Fitzpatrick’s Lodge Stunning Refurbishment Almost Complete!

Private and exclusive and located in the heart of the bushveld, Fitzpatrick’s Lodge at Jock Safari Lodge will reopen on 1 November 2018 in the Kruger National Park.

The child-friendly, private camp has been redesigned and developed by Luxury Frontiers as the perfect home-away-from home for six guests. Accommodating families with children of all ages, Fitzpatrick’s is also perfectly suited to friends travelling together.

Retaining its rich, traditional safari lodge feel, but with a brand new lay-out and reimagined interiors and styling, Fitzpatrick’s is centred around spacious indoor and outdoor lounge and dining areas, complete with a new TV lounge and a deck with a swimming pool. The redesign includes a new enclosed family unit with two luxury suites with bathrooms, leading to a private lounge area, deck and plunge pool. Separately located, the third suite is completely private, also boasting its own plunge pool and deck with views across the river bed and wilderness.

All major contractual work was completed on 17 October and the Design Team have been implementing their vision since.

Jean-Marie de Vos, the Team Leader from Luxury Frontiers, talks about where the inspiration came from for the Fitzpatrick’s redesign

The natural surroundings provide an abundant inspiration in the form of the colour of the river sand, the fresh punch of bright green of the Jackleberry tree and the organic patterns created by the termites on the tree trunks to name but a few.

Fitzpatrick’s should remain traditional in every way. Layers upon layers of textures, fabrics, accessories and colours. The design and lay-out will be used like a “home away from home”.  The room schemes are contemporary in the monochromatic color scheme (charcoal & bone) but are reminiscent of old by virtue of the designs incorporated.

The use of leather, linen, animal hides, brass, horns, wrought iron and other such materials in a contemporary way enabled us to give “the old lady” a refreshing make over whilst maintaining her identity which so many guests have come to know and love over the years.
